About this item
- SPECS- SETSQ-128SS includes one 12" x 8" stainless steel imperial framing square, two sliding scribing stops, one caliper head, and one wall-mountable Rack-It.
- VERSATILE 4-IN-1 DESIGN - Combines framing square, caliper, and scribing ruler functions for measuring, marking, layout, and tool setup tasks.
- ADJUSTABLE STOPS + CALIPER HEAD - Quickly measure depth, set blade or bit height, and scribe parallel lines with ease. Dual-direction graduations let you measure from the ends, inside corner, or the outside corner.
- UNMATCHED ACCURACY - The stainless steel square is precision-machined to a tolerance within .0085° - that's less than .001" at the end of the 12" blade. The laser-engraved scales are held to a tolerance of ±.004" total stack-up error.
- AMERICAN MADE QUALITY - Like all Woodpeckers products, each Stainless Steel Setup Square is precisely built and carefully inspected in our Strongsville, Ohio facility.
Woodpeckers New Setup Square starts with a well-balanced stainless steel square, then adds features borrowed from our Paolini Pocket Rules and Big Cal Woodworking Calipers to create a versatile "Swiss Army Knife" measuring, marking, layout and setup tool for your shop. The stops give you parallel scribing on both sides of the square and provide a base to keep the square upright. Face the caliper head out to easily set depth of cut on saw blades and other round cutters. Face it in to check dimensions like a machinist. The stops and caliper head speed up and tighten up your most common measuring tasks and get out of the way instantly when all you need is a square.
With graduations reading right-to-left on one side and left-to-right on the other, you can measure from the ends, the inside corner or the outside corner. The laser-engraved graduations are held to a tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error. The square is machined to a tolerance of ±.0085°…that's within .001" at the end of the 12" arm.
Add stops to the arms to scribe parallel to the edge of your stock. You'll find a notch machined in the end of each arm. With the stop locked on a specific dimension, the notch locates the center of your pencil lead precisely at the end of the arm, and keeps the pencil from rolling off the end as happens with flush end squares.
The stops double as a stand for the square, keeping it upright for tasks like setting the height of a router bit or checking assemblies for square.
The caliper head takes the Setup Square to another level. Quickly and accurately measure square, round or oddly shaped items between the caliper head and one leg of the square (both are the same size, so it fits on either leg).
Like all Woodpeckers tools, the Setup Square is precisely machined and carefully inspected right here in our facility just south of Cleveland.
